We are a youth-led policy advocacy group that seeks to promote the participation of young people in international relations. We advocate for deliberate policy action that prioritizes young people in the discussions of international affairs, democratic participation, conflict, and security.
About the South African Youth Association of Global Affairs
The South African Youth Association of Global Affairs (SAYAGA) is a registered Non-Governmental Organisation that seeks to advance and promote youth participation in global affairs platforms. SAYAGA views youth participation in national and global affairs platforms as crucial, and believes that there should be more youth engagement in all strategic platforms of international relations. The organisation exists to organise interested youth in international affairs to have coherent programmes that will shape the public discourse of international affairs from youth perspective.
Through our various programs and initiatives, we aim to empower young individuals to become active global citizens, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and cooperation. Our mission is to empower the next generation of leaders to become active participants in shaping the future of our global community. Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to cultivate a diverse and inclusive network of young people who are passionate about working towards a fairer international system that is inclusive and underpinned under the principles of mutual respect, beneficial relationships, solidarity, and multilateralism.
WHAT GUIDES SAYAGA
Vision
We seek to expose young people, particularly, international relations students to real-world global topics through dialogue and engagements with strategic stakeholders in international relations such as the representatives of international organizations, non-governmental transnational organizations, governments, embassies, consulates as well and multinational corporations.
SAYAGA is strongly committed to the values of a multilateral system that recognizes the equal participation of all sovereign states in international institutions. We are committed to realizing a rules-based international order that tolerates different paths to the development and modernization of societies while creating a habitable international system that everyone finds just and representative of their domestic and global aspirations.

Our mission is to provide youth with a platform for meaningful engagement in global issues. SAYAGA has a mission to strengthen people-to-people exchange within global institutions, both governmental and non-governmental institutions as well as Multinational Corporations (MNCs).
